Entrance hall
The quarry-tiled entrance hall has a coat rail
and boot rack for all your outdoor gear. Doors lead from
the hall to the dining room and utility room, and to the
downstairs twin bedroom. A staircase leads up to the first
floor. |
 |
Dining room
The massive French solid oak table shares pride of place with a Victorian corner cabinet. The table is modern, seating up to 14 people when fully extended, though the cabinet has been in the family for four generations. An oil-fired “wood-burner”- style stove contributes to the convivial atmosphere in the room. The floor is quarry-tiled.
|
Kitchen
Again with a quarry-tiled floor, the modern kitchen is well-equipped with range-style dual-fuel cooker (LPG gas hob/electric ovens), dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer and coffee-makers to suit every taste. As well as being practical, the kitchen – decorated in shades of bright orange, off-white and sleek black – is a place to enjoy a rich cup of coffee first thing in the morning, and a glass of wine while preparing dinner. Patio doors open out on to the rear patio.

|
Lounge
Originally two rooms, the long, wood-floored lounge includes two large four-seater sofas arranged around a fireplace fitted with wood-burning stove. There are also two recliner armchairs, TV, video/DVD player and iPOD/CD music station. An enormous bookcase fills almost half of one wall, its cupboards containing a selection of toys and games. |
Library
With open log fire, oak floorboards and hundreds of books, the comfy library decorated in shades of chocolate and off-white is a cosy retreat from the world. It’s also a snug place to settle down for an after-dinner liqueur.
|

|
Shower room
Fitted with electric shower unit, WC and wash-basin. The brightly-coloured ceramic tile floor is an unexpected contrast to the quarry-tiled floor in the adjoining utility room.
|
Utility room
The functional country-style utility room with washing machine, tumble drier and second
fridge is located off the entrance hall.

Twin bedroom (downstairs)
Converted from cart-shed to bedroom in 2007, this striking room decorated in natural colours with dark grey and vibrant orange highlights has arched patio doors opening out on to the main terrace. Still affectionately referred to as “the garage” by the Pencnwc team, it has become one of the cosiest bedrooms in the house.
|
Main hall
Victorian floor tiles make a striking feature in the main hall located at the original front of the house. A glass-panelled door leads directly out to the garden (via outside steps) and the main staircase leads up to the first floor bedrooms and bathrooms.
